Path through the Viru Bog (more explanation below!)
Hi there!
It's been almost two weeks that I'm traveling with my family and while sometimes all the airports and tourism can be exhausting, this trip has been amazing. Every city has a different atmosphere and energy. We started by flying from Dallas to Albany for a wedding in Lake George. Then we stopped by Washington D.C. (I had never visited!) before flying to Frankfurt and then Tallinn. We stopped by Tallinn because my aunt recently moved there. I had such a blast visiting a new country and seeing my family! Here are some of the highlights:

The old town of Tallinn is divided into two with the upper town called Toompea set on a hill surrounded by medieval walls and the lower town at the foot of the hill. You can go up one of the medieval town defences and walk around. You get a great view!
Old town Tallinn was beautiful but Estonia is also full of incredible nature landscapes. There are many trails in the forest and by the sea. We went to Viru in Kolga, Estonia. It's a nature trail that passes through forest and marsh landscape. I loved how clean the air felt and how completely surrounded by nature we were. My favorite part were the multiple bogs. The water was unbelievably clear and crisp.

This view felt unreal. Throughout the path there were multiple of these bogs or wetlands.

The water reflected everything! This nature trail was relaxing & educational. It's known as a study trail because all across you find signs that explain the flowers, how the landscape has changed, and animals you might see. Fun fact: Estonians are very superstitious! You learn about lots of legends during this trail!
I also got the chance to swim in the Baltic Sea. Even though it was freezing inside and outside, it was something I absolutely wanted to do before leaving. We also took a ferry across to spend a day in Helsinki. Luckily we had great weather so we were able to spend the day walking around the market and streets.
Next Stop: Warsaw, Poland
Talk to you soon!
